The arrival at the hotel is almost cinematic. After crossing the beautiful black iron gate, you will be driving down a road lined with white stone walls and Muscat vineyards.
At the end of this road, you will find the discrete but grand facade of a magnificent manor. The coat of arms at the top of the main entrance immediately indicates that this sumptuous building is filled with history. Built in the 17th century, it has always belonged to the Palmela family and the renovation work done on the house to create Sétubal's first Five Star Hotel is an absolute success.

Although the house offers all the comfort of modern life it has not lost its charm and authenticity: the famous Azulejos, Portugal’s well known prestigious decorated earthenware tiles, the small chapel on the first floor, the beautiful pictures from the past, the works of art and furniture of the owners' family dating from the different centuries. Each bedroom is delicately decorated in light colored tones, going from ocean blue, water green to pale pink. The old library has been converted into a luxurious room and, what used to be the owners' bedroom is now a spacious master suite with its own private garden balcony. At five o'clock, every afternoon, you can savor a delicious cup of tea, served in the living room by the fireplace. A tradition that you should not miss.
Classified as a Manor of Municipal Interest, Casa Palmela is as astonishing inside as it is outside. The view of the Arrábida mountain is breathtaking.
